Hello and welcome to my first blog post on this website!
I’m Camille, a French artist living in the UK since 2017. I’m a self-taught artist who enjoys working with oil painting and palette knife.
I primarily paint landscapes, inspired by holidays in Brittany where I first started to paint and pictures taken when hiking or traveling.
Living on the south coast of England since 2021 has greatly influenced my art, particularly my desire to capture nature’s fleeting beauty.
Since I’m not (yet) a full-time artist and don’t have much time for my art each week, I prefer working on small formats. Growing up in the 80s, I loved receiving postcards from friends and family, so it felt natural to paint landscapes on postcard-sized canvases.
This format pays homage to the tradition of sending and receiving postcards, capturing the essence of a landscape in a small, tangible form that can be held, collected or shared.
